Education, School, Perseverance, Burnout

After getting an unequivocal mission from God (as I understood God and how he might communicate with me at the time) that I needed to go back to school, get my BA, teaching credentials, etc, and become a teacher, I am almost done. From 1998 until this June, 2010, I have been in school taking classes. I was hired as a teacher during the 2000-2001 school year and have taught continuously while going to school at night. Now I have completed the coursework for a Master’s degree.

An old cliche is “it will all be worth it.” I love teaching, love being with the kids and enjoying their company, love being with all the people at a school. But, the demands that never end on teachers in California! It reminds me of the current government spending spree with the endless tax demands that will be placed on us all. It doesn’t have to be this hard, and at some point things are no longer worth it. Thank God I don’t have to reach that point before I am done.
